FMI is a cloud Institute bringing together government, industry and academia with the goal of integrating, aligning and innovating all aspects of the Facilities Operations and Management profession through continuous collaboration on core competencies, curriculum, continuing education and knowledge networking.
The Core Competency Web Tool gives resources, links to training, and a self-assessment tool to support users’ needs to benchmark and update core competency knowledge, skills and abilities. GSA has identified core competencies required for those involved in facility management. Users must demonstrate all competencies applicable to them within one year, and certifications and licenses.
Individuals and their supervisor will find single courses (using the methods most effective for them) that map to the core competencies, a single performance, or groups of performances required by their position.
